Charting control [v1.5] OpenGL game tutorial in C++Congratulations! I doubt you will get the response I did. We were at out at dinner with her parents and they both knew what was going on as I got down on one knee and proposed which she accepted. As we were in a hug, the crowd all started to clap. When the clapping had eneded, a voice comes out from another table "You'll be sorry" and laughter began :) Glad to say, that one voice was wrong, even after almost 12 years

Yes, I remember. In fact when you posted it in the lounge I was already planning to ask her (I had already chosen a ring).

Well, obviously his fiancee is more productive than yours when it comes to the wedding :)

Charting control [v1.5] OpenGL game tutorial in C++Did you have the ring long? I mean I, initially though that I would propose on Christmas day (and I had a good plan for hiding the ring in the decorations) but after having the ring for a few days I could not take it anymore. I could not put it in the safe because she would be guaranteed to find it and then I was worried (even though it was insured) that someone would break in the house and find the ring or she would find it in my hiding spot.

There are two problems for us. I want to have a traditional wedding and she wants to elope. The second problem is that her job is uncertain being that her company is bankrupt and her division has been bought out by a rival company.

I had that with my wife. I wanted a traditional wedding and she wanted to elope. Only our mothers would have killed us.

That sucks. Seriously, job security is an important thing and its terrible not knowing if an you're being axed or not. My sympathies.

No, I didn't have it for a long time (one or two weeks before I proposed). But it tool quite some time to have it. First, choose it (and think about it to be sure this was the one she will like) and then I had to bring one of her ring to order the ring with the correct size. Once I had the ring, I didn't want to wait too long. I've made my decision, so why wait 2 or 3 months ? And on last monday I had a good occasion to make something special: she was not at home the afternoon so I had the opportunity to cook something special for her and to prepare everything for a romantic dinner ;)

We would be fine with the finances but paying for a traditional wedding would be a bit of a strain being that I will be paying on the ring for the next year..
My sympathies.
Thanks
