Is it just me or does VS2008 leak memory like a submarine with a screen door?

This has been the case of every new VS release since vs2003. Each time it gets worse. I think the goal is to get everyone so accustomed to the massive size of VS that we all just start treating it like a secondary OS, you start Windows, then you start VS. Then you're done.

I kinda think the screen door is on order. Until then you'll just have to make do with the empty door frame.

You must be doing WPF work...

Only if you're working with a lot of .NET projects. Or debugging. Or editing XML. Or your Intellisense database gets corrupt. For editing the odd C++ file, it works ok.

You're right. These facts that you've laid out totally contradict the wild ramblings that I pulled off the back of cornflakes packets.

Nope. Just your average run of the mill take data out of the database, let the user change it and put it back in. It's up to 400Mb!!!

I knew Intellisense was corrupt. And we all thought it was limited to being the governor of Illinois.

I've had it running since Monday without shutting it down, and I've loaded several different projects into it over the course of the last few days, and it's only using 144mb right now.

Notepad2 works better, believe me. It can not only handle tabs a bit better, but has syntax colouring. :)
