If you are on the death row (or if you have just posted a programming question in The Lounge) and you get to listen to ONE song before you are sent to meet your maker, which song would it be? PS: If its a Celine Dion song you deserve to BE on the death-row.

You've all missed the obvious choice. I don't die until the song is over, right? "This is the song that never ends, yes, it goes on and on my friends, some people started singing it, not quite knowing what it was, now they'll keep on singing forever because, this is the song that never ends,..." Yes, this is an actual song, recorded and performed. Also, it's an excellent way to annoy people. Such as, for example, executioners.

I would like my last song to be Shine on You crazy Diamond, obviously by Pink Floyd. First off it is the best song I have ever heard, and most important of all, it is the longest song I know of ( total of 26 minutes and 2 seconds ). Thus granting me more time to live. =)

I'd have to spend a few months going through my collection to make my choice and then a few more months listening to some that are not in my collection but I wish I did have, then a few more months listening to the recommendations of others, then....

Highway to Hell - AC/DC [edit] Dammit, repost. Alright then, Hit the Lights, by Metallica, off Kill 'em All. Or the new version, by Black Tide. Awesomely monstrous. Or should that be monstrously awesome?

I had the same idea. My song was the Verdi's opera Aida!

I prefer Echoes but yes, it is shorter. :)

I do not have words to fully express my hatred of that song. I was driving around northern/central France when it was released. Not being familiar with radio station frequencies over there, played sort of radio seeker roulette and every and I do mean EVERY station was playing the damned thing. It got so that I couldn't hear it without sobbing uncontrollably by the side of the road. Ggggrrr!

If you are on the death row (or if you have just posted a programming question in The Lounge) and you get to listen to ONE song before you are sent to meet your maker, which song would it be? PS: If its a Celine Dion song you deserve to BE on the death-row.
