Disk defragement result
-
Hi, I have run disk degragement on my computer after it prompt me that I should run disk defragement. After I run it, its display the following result:
Volume (C:) Volume size = 25.70 GB Cluster size = 4 KB Used space = 12.67 GB Free space = 13.03 GB Percent free space = 50 % Volume fragmentation Total fragmentation = 4 % File fragmentation = 8 % Free space fragmentation = 0 % File fragmentation Total files = 75,433 Average file size = 232 KB Total fragmented files = 1 Total excess fragments = 0 Average fragments per file = 0.99 Pagefile fragmentation Pagefile size = 1.11 GB Total fragments = 4 Folder fragmentation Total folders = 5,162 Fragmented folders = 1 Excess folder fragments = 0 Master File Table (MFT) fragmentation Total MFT size = 79 MB MFT record count = 80,757 Percent MFT in use = 99 % Total MFT fragments = 5 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fragments File Size Files that cannot be defragmented None
From here I would like to ask the qeustion: what point in this report that tell me whether the disk defragment could fragment the file effectively or not? Thank in advance -

I guess most people make the decision based on total and file fragmentation percentages. Your fragmentation is very low, and in my opinion would not require defragmentation. Best Wishes, -David Delaune

Thank in advanceI would recommend you to use Smart Defrag[^]. It automatically runs in the background and defragments drive. It uses low system resources and is very effective.
