If, having done that, my opinion chnages then all well and good; if not, no harm done. I doubt that there is a written form of words that would rattle my cage suffciently to put me in fear of those words or the meaning behind them.

Well of course I don't: please feel free to take the piss as much as you want (I like a good laugh); I'll certainly take the piss out of you.

Obviously they are, he'd just prefer they were seen with somebody else at the helm. For a non-religious example, I recognize the right of Democrats to think they are right, that doesn't mean I'll support anything that spreads that message.

Presumably that includes watching any shows on NBC, yes?

Taking something out of context is really naughty. There is a difference between you actively proseltyzing and me reading a passive sign on a bus. In the first instance you are seeking to convert me to your way of thinking and I have to slam the door in your face. In the second I can simply read it and choose to ignore it: bit like walking past a church and reading the sign that says 'Jesus Lives' or whatever. I'm ceratinly not going to walk into the church and castigate the vicar cos I don't like his signage.

Well, of course. Without knowing, talking to, or being the man in question, you have no way of actually knowing his attitude. Your imagination is all you have to go on.

Right. As well as several others. However, that does present some difficulties... You have to expose yourself to the wrong side to know what they're spreading, what they're up to, and for a wider perspective. You just have to find ways to get that without letting them benefit from it. Thank you internet! :-D

Regardless of YOUR beliefs, I think the gentleman has as much rights as anyone to protest over his beliefs. By calling him weak-minded, you only reveal your prejudice in the matter. I don't happen to agree with his position either, but think you might be the moron here for disrespecting his right to protest.

He's not protesting; he's getting a day off work. And I can just imagine the short shrift I'd get if I worked for that company and got all hissy over a 'Jesus Lives' sign or somesuch. You mistake typical british sloth and laziness for zeal and belief.

Actually, if you are interested in context, up to the point where you entered[^] the thread and told me, in essence, to "shut up," I wasn't trying to proseltyze anyone. I was having a conversation with Kyle (the OP), responding to something he wrote. Kyle didn't tell me to shut up. Vincent didn't tell me to shut up. Jorgen didn't tell me to shut up. It was only you that told me to shut up...everyone else seemed to want to have some sort of a conversation. You, given the option of being passive and choosing to ignore the thread or being active and having a conversation on the subject, chose neither.

If you are running a company, trying to make money to house and feed your family and one of your employees says he can't agree with what you are doing, so he won't do it, but will expect full pay, what would you do? Fire him and employ someone who will do as they are told for the money, or go broke to pay for his principals?

What if the bus implied that child molestation was good, surely you wouldn't drive that bus? I think you would because you are a simple minded drone executing your superior's commands.
