With all due respect, this is far from being your first whine, here in SB, or about Obama. Certainly you aren't saying that you had to be liberal to find G.W. Bush and his administration less than satisfactory, are you?

    Geithner as new Treasury Secretary

I couldn't agree more. I don't think he could have gotten confirmed if it wasn't for the financial meltdown and the feeling apparently a lot of people have that he's got whatever it might take to head the treasury at a time like this. Ironic when you think of how intimately involved he was with the policies that seemed to have caused the problems - and with the people who just gave away pretty close to a trillion without asking for any accounting.

There were a bunch of boring topics in the SB today and I decided to "spice it up". This is my FIRST whine about the "new President". Just keeping my pledges like I said I would. besides, I love to wrankle the libs on here --- they deserve it after blaming everything in the world on Bush or some other Republican/conservative. just trying to even the score, so to speak.

I don't know why you put that in quotations, for he is actually the new President.

To be fair, we gave Bush about 2 - 3 years before we started calling him out on his... err... poor decisions. You waited 36 hours demanding change.

Spicy whine, eh? :-\ Anyway... you should probably know there are no real liberals here. Plenty of variety when it comes to prejudice though!

Honestly, I wouldn't if that were the case. No one likes to feel cheated. Even you. But you'd know that Obama is doing what he promised if you did read Eliot's and mine posts. Do an effort, I know you can read something and even understand it.

Because it is my first whine about the new "President" Obama. Not candidate Obama! OK --- tell you what -- I'll hold my tongue on Obama for 6 months. Then we will evaluate the "change" he campaigned on. So far, so far, he is off to an inauspicious start. That sound fair?

Yep, very decent. Again, I'm neither republican nor a Democrat. Both sites made choices that are right, and both made choices that are wrong. President Obama is going to make mistakes, just as any other President has. I just hope you don't hold him to a higher standard then you would have Sen. McCain or former President Bush.

No, just the same standards the liberals/Dems imposed on Bush, no matter if Bush's decisions were right or wrong. All I wanted to do was maintain the same high standards set by the libs/Dems. I mean, chastising Bush over Hurricane Katrina?? Like he caused it?? Seems to me the only ones complaining were those still sitting on their asses waiting for Uncle Sam to come along and rebuild their homes for them, and the political hacks who tried to make political gain from it.

How about waiting more then 36 hours to expect all this change. As for change implemented in first 36 hours (which you wildly critisize) 1. Obama Signs Executive Order to close Gitmo[^] 2. President freezes pay for top staff[^] 3. Obama signs Executive orders about transparency and accountability for his administration.[^] Not bad for 36 hours. Before I start getting 1 voted, I'm not against Former President Bush. I was pro some of his actions, and against some of his actions. As I will be with President Obama. If you respect Former President Bush, try to respect President Obama as well, either way show respect to the office of the President of the United States.

This is the first of my whines to start getting even for all the whining that you libs did in the last 8 years. So Obama promised CHANGE. Example 1 - NO LOBBYISTS will be allowed in the administration - yet two are already part of his administration. http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2008/11/12/obama_softens_ban_on_hiring_lobbyists/[^] Example 2 - Geithner as new Treasury Secretary -- can't pay his taxes like you and me. So now he's in charge of the very group (IRS) that he failed to pay taxes to. Innocent error? Yeah, right! He was championed as having the "leadership" to execute the Treasury Secretary's office better than ANYONE ELSE in the country, by both Dems and Reps. Does anyone in Washington know the DEFINITION of LEADERSHIP? Cause this ain't it! http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123263598875806111.html?mod=googlenews_wsj[^] Sorry, but so far, I don't see a whole lot of FUNDAMENTAL change in Washington. You may send the cheese to go with that whine to your favorite charity food location.

Personally, whatever they prefer the least is fine with me. I couldn't care less what they'd prefer. And the day I decide to be a terrorist against another country, I'll expect no better from them.

Personally, whatever they prefer the least is fine with me. I couldn't care less what they'd prefer. And the day I decide to be a terrorist against another country, I'll expect no better from them.

You're not getting it. I don't care in the least what they want or prefer. Puting them in the US is a negative. Puting them in prison gives them opportunities. But I don't know what would be best to do with them now. I hope we got some REALLY good information from them, because they will be a headache from here on out.

No, Mike, I wasn't the one on TV pledging all these campaign promises about "change". If he doesn't start "change" now, then when?
