Nah...not yet unfortunately, but it will surely come out this year. Rumor has it that an open beta testing is coming soon. I think the hardest part for them is to balance the game really well and with 3 species that share almost nothing in common, that's quite a challenge.

Except there are way better strategy games to use as the basis for study. (Even my strategy game loving son couldn't get through more than a few minutes of Starcraft.)

Yeah but TacOps (a civilian version of an actual marine corp wargame) and Decisive Action (a completely unsimplified version of a division/corps level map table exercise) have absolutely nothing in the way of flashy graphics to attract the kidiots. DA also has one of the steepest learning curves of any PC wargame ever. Think VI.

I admit never to have heard of those games, but I'll do some research I promise. :) The thing is though that a great game should be easy to learn and hard to master. Starcraft is. Chess and Texas Hold'Em are too. Personally I pretty much suck at SC because I don't have the dexterity to issue to commands and to react to opponent's moves at a good pace. But those who do put on some hell of a show. After all, if Starcraft was a bad game, it wouldn't be part of World Cyber Games for 10 years.
