pesky damn taxes[^] even more fun, the pitchforks are out for Daschle as DeMint calls for Hopey to withdraw the nomination[^]. I would really like to see Daschle's name withdrawn. He would be capable of making universal healthcare (read: an entitlement) happen to the detriment of future generations.

Hey! This may be a good thing ... maybe now that we all clearly see that rich "liberals" dislike paying taxes as much as real people do, perhaps rich "liberals" will stop trying to equate taxation with patriotism. After all, no one is allowed to question the patriotism of "liberals."

(as we've seen, even with 100% Republican opposition, the Dems can pass whatever they want, and Senate republicans haven't the discipline to filibuster this issue either). You're dreaming if you expect to get through the next 4 years without this happening.

For a group of people that like to proclaim paying taxes is patriotic, they sure seem to find a lot of people who can't seem to agree with tem. Or maybe its only patriotism when you and I pay taxes. :rolleyes:

(as we've seen, even with 100% Republican opposition, the Dems can pass whatever they want, and Senate republicans haven't the discipline to filibuster this issue either). I was honestly amazed when I read that article. I had thought all the House Dems had shared in the Koolaid, really pleased to see there's still independent thought and tradition alive there.

The Blue Dogs have got to go home to their middle-of-the-road districts and get reelected. It won't be because they voted the San Francisco party line. But I am not sure she's getting the message. This afternoon she has summoned Ben Bernanke over to her fireplaced office for a little one-on-one chat. He says he's "looking forward to her input." There was no sign of the chairmen of any of the financial committees. Just him, the reporters and her. It would be a good thing for America, including the Democratic party, if there was a revolution and she was voted out.
