Against domain parking... I just checked on a domain name I want that isn't available. BTW - Network Solutions sucks; their site loads instantly, but I waited fifteen minutes for the search results to load, and never got a response. Thrice. I found another site, though, and it gives far better information, including the domain history - how many registrars, IP Address history, etc. If you're interested, the site is whois.domaintools.com. Oops. I tried to use the link[^] button, but it doesn't work... Sorry about that. Anyway, the domain name I wanted is owned by a domain parker in the Bahamas, and has been for 8 years. There's no site, just a cover page advertising the name for sale. The thing that pisses me off is that, according to the whois site above, this server hosts 1,136,696 domains! Over 1 million parked domains that these bastards are sitting on, trying to rip off anyone who wants to start a legitimate website. Nuke 'em, I say. Who's going to notice another hole in the water?:mad:

How about 500USD? That's a bit more than a penny or 2, and that's the minimum their website will accept. These scumbags need to be removed from the Internet. I'd propose that if a domain owner doesn't host a legitimate site within 2 years of purchasing the domain name, the name goes back in the pool. Of course, the devil is in the details, and deciding what is, or is not a legitimate website is subject to some speculation. A single page offerring to sell the domain name is clearly not a legitimate use for a name, but there are many variations on the theme that wouldn't be hard to automate. 'Tis a quandry...

I agree, it is pretty bad. Maybe if they just limited ownership to a max of say 100 domains this kind of thing would not happen so often.

Incorporate and register a trademark in the Domain name you want. You can then make a legitimate ownership request and be given the unused domain.
