Once again, for the benefit of those stupid people who insist on judging climate change on the basis of short term weather in single locations. Melbourne hottest temperature on record[^] For the metrically challenged, 46.4 Celsius is 115.52 Fahrenheit.

      Crikey! 46.4°C?! :wtf: That's horrible. I think it's about 33°C where I live, and I'm having trouble staying at a half-decent temperature.

Predicted for NSW tomorrow as well...and with more than forty fires burning around the state it could turn out to be an interesting weekend. What boils my blood is that they are started by arsonist scum...:mad::mad:

Hobart has also smashed several long term temperature records this past month. We got pretty close to 46, 44, I believe. That's unheard of, down here.

I prefer to take the track record of a field of sciences predictions... climatologists have yet to prove they can predict a god damn thing. They're computer models can't even get direction of temperature movement correct over a 10 year period. If anyone on this site put up code that spat out the wrong answer, after years of tweaking, we would stop listening to that person. Stop listening to people who just want your money, either big oil or big green. They all lie to get their ends.

I spent 2005 in Phoenix, Az. It got up to 117F one day with sustained temps over 100 for at least a couple months. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhh. I never should have left. It's about 36F here. BBBBBBrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am following the Biblical injunction to answer a fool according to his folly. Of course, by itself, the current heatweave in SE Australia doesn't prove anything.

I think the way that actually works (with all deference to the Bible) is that when you lower yourself to the level of fools, they trounce you with their folly, being much more practiced.

                            That can certainly happen. :)
