You'll need a tall mounting block[^] Thank goodness there's nothing better to spend that sort of cash on otherwise some people may think it's a total waste of money in these difficult times.

It is an important and necessary part of the economic stimulus plan and proof that the government no longer has faith in those discredited plans of the last eight years.

I detest all "public art". If an individual wants to make art, great; if an individual wants to buy or commission art, fine. But don't spend public funds on it and make me look at it as I drive down the street. Downtown Mesa (AZ), for instance, has a dreadful collection of crap littering its sidewalks. :sigh:

What a designer. "Mhmmmmm.... what will I design" "Oh... maybe a horse will look nice" "wait God designed that already" checks to see if God has any patents on a horse "Oh no patents I think I'll enter that idea"

The bit that got me was "planning permission is now being sought" - if someone had built a house without planning permission, they'd likely be tearing it down as we speak.

It is, of course, a signal to our off-world overlords. Originally 2 dimensional (because of the available technology of the time) the white horse has for thousands of years been used to direct incoming harvest ships to their destination (in this case, I suggest, its proximity to the tunnel is not coincidental - "pre-packaged humans for your delectation, your wonderfulness?" Evidently this is a move from Wiltshire (home of the majority of the white horses). Kentish folk should be worried. In an obvious example of their contempt for the human race, the use of a white horse is solely due to the anagram - "Here Show It". In the dialect of the time, in general use in Wiltshire, the anagram roughly translates to "Grub's Up" I need a lie down
