      Here is a web app that makes crossword puzzles- http://www.pivari.com/crosswordmaker.html[^] It'll work on any Windows platform. You can try it free for 30 days, but then you do have to pay to continue to use it. Have fun!

        Hi Ranjit, Thanks for your valuable response. I am searching for an open source one to include in one of my project. Googled a lot unfortunately none get noticed. It would be great if you can direct me to so good and flexible algorithm which does this job. Cheers
