Google: Don't be evil
-
They know how people react to what they find in the search results. They are the media of all media, holder of all information. Everyone trusts google to be a solid source of information about everything known.
Except, I just proved I can google anti obama info easily. And, honestly the only people googling it, are people who agree with it. People don't use the web to expand their horizons, they use it to confirm their beliefs to themselves.

Which is why Google and the rest of the web is the perfect medium to manipulate people.

No, it is of no value at all. People choose where they go, people can write whatever they like, and people read what they want to believe. Which part of 'I can google anti Obama information without any issue', provided with examples, are you failing to understand ? That your one very specific search did nothing, proves nothing. If I want to read bad things about Obama, Google is my friend.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&safe=off&q=%22obama+is+making+problems+worse%22&btnG=Search&cts=[^] Don't tell me that their are no results for that. I know better. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22making+problems+worse%22+obama&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=[^] On closer inspection it looks like a filtered search.
After this site gets indexed you will have a few more. Did you try a control, like yahoo, or msn search? I doubt Google would want to suppress it. Both HateObamanians and LoveObamanians ad revenue for hits is just as good.

Yes, I knew we'd end up at this point. It's the point you always come to. As I keep saying, the feeling that you're better than people who don't 'know' is one of the reasons that people on the outside of society are drawn to conspiracy theories.

Thanks for explaining the analogy to me. My mind is weak, after all. Do you not notice that when people try to discuss things with you, you fail to respond to questions and then resort to insults ? Doesn't that make you question yourself, just a little ?

Not the slightest bit. It makes me question you all and everyone else.

Relabeling things to what they plainly are not, is another thing that conspiracy nuts tend to do. Why is it that you're scared of logical discussion ? What have you got to lose by explaining why it is that you think Google is evil for causing one specific search to fail ?
CSS_Shadow(); wrote:

Of course it does. See point #1. If I wanted to insult you, I'd say things like 'of course a loser would want to make themselves feel better than others'. But, it seems you're impervious to any form of discussion.

Totally. They're in it with the Scotch-Irish and super-intelligent-German-hamsters to create a new world order where Great Truths can't be easily googled on Google. It gets worse - this search fails as well: http://www.google.com/search?q="paranoid+druggies+ruin+it+for+the+rest+of+us" :omg:

You do understand that where you put the quotes makes the difference, right? With your first search it has to be exactly those words in exactly that order. With your second search you have two parameters instead of one.

You're only proving my two points. To recap 1 - you're incapable of discussing your crackpot theories. it's beyond all doubt that I can easily use Google to find anti Obama sites. You cannot explain how this fits with your (overall retarded) theory 2 - when called out on how insane your views are by people willing to try to entertain rational discussion, you have nowhere to hide, so you resort to insults, and generally claim that the fact we disagree with the drivel you're buying into, is proof of our incompetence. When surely your general level of success in life ( or otherwise ) compared to those you speak to, is a general indicator that points in the opposite direction to what you'd like.

:sigh: Over the weekend I had started to think that maybe he was actually listening to other people and had approached his bank with rationality. Of course, the bank restoring his account and apologising doesn't have to be the truth, does it?

Yeah, I was noticing that he seemed to be discussing things somewhat, the trouble is, you back him into a corner, face to face with his delusion, and he's gonna come out fighting.

No, but it's possible. Although I don't really see how the bank would have a vested interest in keeping him as a customer.
