Oh cry me a river, some filthy terrorists were waterboarded. I heard they even made them stay up late. :(( Boo hoo, the government listened to your phone calls. :(( You're turn. We were playing Obnoxious Partisan Trolling Antagonist, right? Still trying to get a handle on that whole debate thingy, huh.

Good God! Fearmongering over a non-issue. No hearings planned, no bills introduced, President opposes it.

More fearmongering. Complete non-issue. The Census is not being removed from the Commerce Dept.

Stimulus Bill:
Plenty of economists believe it will create lots of jobs and will stimulate the economy. Of course your article did include a number of economists who thought the stimulus is too small.

Oh boo-hoo. Cry me a river, Boney. There was compromise plenty of tax cuts in the stimulus. The R's offered nothing but opposition, they aren't interested in helping the economy they are listening to their new leader, Rush, who 'wants Obama to fail'.

Can't say I remember hearing you whine like this when the R's were talking about their permanent majority.

Fact: Democrat = tax and spend
That's definitely more fiscally conservative than the R's borrow and spend mentality.

Oh my! Cry me another river, Boney! Where have you been the last 8 years when the R's have doubled the national debt?

So are you saying that it was a good thing that the Republicans did this, or that it was a bad thing, but it still justifies the Democrats outspending them 2:1?

Yeah, and? Given a choice of believing Greg saying what Obama is going to do and Obama saying what Obama is going to do - I guess I'll go with the person who is actually knows - in this case that would be Obama.
Oakman wrote:

On the first two, I don't think it was good thing for the R's to try it - as far as I know the only place they did it was in Texas - pretty inconsequential. And, of course, there is no actual indication that the Dems are trying to steal the census - just the ranting of the lunatic fringe. I can't really see why you think that my statement that taxing and spending is more fiscally conservative than borrowing and spending would suggest that I think that borrowing and spending is a good thing all the time.

and this was a very bad thing, absolutely.

What justifies a large stimulus package is accepting the economic theory that government deficit spending in a recession will stimulate the economy and help soften the recession. Perhaps 800 billion is too much, more likely not enough. I'm not sure where you get the 2:1 ratio from, the Demint plan - which most R's supported - a grab bag of permanent tax cuts for the rich and businesses, would cost about 3.1 trillion over 10 years.

Go ahead and think that. But in reality, there's just really no point in responding to that kind of dishonest belligerent crap.

Okay, I understand your thinking: Democrats walk on water; Republicans are the minions of hell. Do you have anything - anything - to say that is not summed up in the above executive summary?

Typical moronic drivel. But I've learned to expect nothing more from you. Sure I could be just like you, and Mike, and Stan, and Rob and Bone and parrot right-wing talking points ad infinitum, ad nauseum. But what would be the fun in that? Silly question, I know. Clearly you guys find great pleasure in it. I'll take a pass on that, though.

Yes. I agree. I summed up your position perfectly. It's too bad, though. You sometimes show signs of a real mind with a better than average IQ - but the minute you start discussing politics you seem to lose any ability to think for yourself and sound like Nancy Pelosi instead.

Oily, your politics are so far to the left that Che Guevara would sound right wing next to you.
