The Loung changes

Thanks Mike :) I did a complete rewrite of the guts of the boards last week based on code Uwe sent in, and I've had Dave Cunningham getting absolutely no sleep trying to configure new SQL servers on on the other end. Even so, I knew that with all these changes (and more this weekend) no one would truly believe some serious work had been done until I changed the menus and added some flashy buttons ;P cheers, Chris Maunder

All is good, but why does the choice of "per page" get reduced with every rewrite? It used be up to 100 and now it's merely 10 and 25? I want my 100 back, it is trouble to use prev/next as most threads get split in between pages....

Hey, I think its only limited when you view in "DHTML mode". in "normal mode" you can have up to 50 items per page. See me: www.magerquark.de

It was done to limit load using the old scripts. I'll open it up a little more. cheers, Chris Maunder

I've been noticing serious threading issues though. Are you aware of this? I'm seeing messages that are unrelated showing up as children of the wrong threads.

Those links (or sould i say bottons?) reminds me of OfficeXP. What if you put them inside a div and have a styleseet like: Div.HoverLink:hover { position:relative; top:-5; left-5; } ;) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Memory leaks is the price we pay \0 01234567890123456789012345678901234

Are they new messages that are being attached to the wrong parents, or old orphaned messages? I know there are some orphaned messages that have bubbled to the top of some of the boards. Rethreading takes ages so I wanted to wait till this weekend to deal with them and get them sorted to the bottom. If there is a particular forum that shows messages getting screwed then please email me. cheers, Chris Maunder

Might it be possible to prevent the board from splitting a thread over multiple pages (except for extremely long threads)? Just a suggestion. :)
