What have you heard people say is evolution then?

The word 'evolution' means "development [of what is already there] over time" (*) and it implies teleology ... which is why St. Chuckie avoided the word. The word was first used in embryology to name the theory that embryos grow from preformed homunculi (in the case of humans) enclosed in the egg or sperm cells; that is, by this old theory, all possible future organisms already exist in miniature within their ancestors. But, hey, you don't even know yourself what you mean by the word; you're using it with multiple meanins simultaneously. (*) Contra the "Darwinsts," the word does *not* mean "change over time."

I know he is, but what I mean is you found that picture by looking it up, I'm assuming. Some of the pictures/games I see here I don't know how you guys find that stuff when you want it. I don't seem to be able to find it when I try.

As usual, you're so ignorant ... and so proud to be. Goodness, even Stephen Gould says that you're a proudly ignorant fool[^].

I don't "believe" in evolution. I accept it as the best theory available to explain the origin of species. I have no problem with the person who tells me that evolution is part of God's plan, either. I am also aware, as apparently folks who refer to the Theory of Evolution as 'Darwinism' are not that the theory of evolution has been modified many times and in many ways as we have learned more about biological history, world history and genetics to the point where Darwin himself might not recognize what most modern evolutionary biologistwould point to when asked what evolution was. Frankly, I suspect that most people who "believe" in evolution have no idea what they are talking about - anymore than those who "disbelieve."

I have a philosophical question for you: assuming that mathematics is absolute truth, that physics is the application of mathematics, and that other sciences come from an application of physics, does that mean that the derivation of mathematics is untrue? In other words, do you believe that a logical derivation of truth can be a lie? If not, why?

You're posing him with a philosophical dilemma. Based on your observations of his preceeding posts, tell me, are you honestly expecting a cogent answer? :)

Bugger all. I got bored and invented a language one day with a few verbs, nouns, adjectives, adverbs, rules for conjugation/declention and so on. Came up with an insult, but I've forgotten it all now :D
