Yeah, thats another good emotive word. As soon as you need to disagree with some one call them a racist, Nazi, homophobic etc. It's all part of the Politically Correct Lefts attempt to reinsert Communism into our society via anarchy. :-( Regardz Colin J Davies

Naaahhhh! You missed my winkie. ;) Seinfeld started it all... The Soup Nazi... The Stationery Nazi... Not that there's anything wrong with that! No Code For You! Now for the serious part... Colin^Davies wrote: As soon as you need to disagree with some one call them a racist, Nazi, homophobic etc. It's all part of the Politically Correct Lefts attempt to reinsert Communism into our society via anarchy I fully agree with you here. It's not political correctness though. It's an attempt to belittle an opponent (in an argument) by reducing their argument to a slur. I find it happens mostly when the user of this technique cannot, or cannot be bothered to, think of a reasonable counter argument and resorts to character assassination instead. I've been fairly busy in the last few days (I've interviewed six candidates eight time this week) and there is more to come. I haven't really kept up with the lounge activity this week. My comment was meant to be light hearted. I apologise if you have taken offence at it. Now I'm off home. My broadband cable stopped working this morning. My network card is reporting an unplugged cable. I suspect it's the modem. So I'll probably have to be on the phone to support for a while. Last weekend it was my HD, this weekend... *sigh* Cheers The universe is driven by the complex interaction between three ingredients: matter, energy, and enlightened self-interest.

Brian Azzopardi wrote: We're just not appreciated - I vote we sue for reparations... Wonderful, I am all for that. We can find an unused country, rename it C++ Land and stick all you under appreciated C++ programmers there. The only communications out of your new wonderful country will be compiled C++ apps for the rest of us to use. We will send in the specs, pizza and nudey magazines, you send out apps. At least then the rest of us can get on with life and you guys will be as happy as punch in a land without a single VB programmer. Sound good? ;P

computer culture racists. And don't take me wrong, I'm a C++ programmer. But I also program in other languages. I just find those threads bad taste. Michel It is a lovely language, but it takes a very long time to say anything in it, because we do not say anything in it, unless it is worth taking a very long time to say, and to listen to.

Pick the tool to fit the job, not the other way around. Personally, I wouldn't use VB for an app - but that's just my own preference (I have written large apps in Basic before - and I wouldn't care to repeat the experience). As for scripting - anything goes. Ever seen anyone bragging about C++Script? ;) Andy Metcalfe - Sonardyne International Ltd

How about 'sir' ? For example, when a VB programmer comes to my house, they may say 'does your pool need cleaning, sir ?' To be honest, I think the VB thing has been done to death today. I program in other languages, too. I'm just enjoying Ranjith's personality problems for as much as I can milk them for.
