Open a new account then, if you cannot get access to that one. If you can then change the password. Hint: Never make the password unrememberable! (I use Gandalf, it is easy to remember and if you use it for everything you won't go wrong!)

Hint 2: Use an unremarkable name like Gandalf as a base but add letters to the end depending on what you are logging into, e.g. GandalfCP, GandalfO2 etc. Then use KeePass to keep a record of all of them.

That's good to know. What's your username and do you have any means of accessing it over the internet?

I never set a proper security question. I usually just fill the answer with crap because the questions are usually so easy to figure out or guess. I haven't forgotten a pwd yet and they're always fairly strong.

you are right but my way around it is to answer the question with something that doesn't make sense. for example if i choose the question: "What month were you born?" and I answer "Orange"

Ah! But do you always answer 'Orange' to that question, and if not can you remember which site it was that you answered that way? If you always answer Orange, that is as bad as using the same password for everything. If you are unable to remember which site, you end up in the sort of problems you are having, when password forgotten/hijacked. I have to say, that I do as you do - nonsense answers - and can never remember which site goes with which answer. Ain't it a beyatch!
