Can someone possibly tell me how to get my situation working...? I'm trying to get some ports mapped to my computer in my dorm at school. I'm using XP home and in network properties there's an icon that represents my network card and there's there's an 'internet gateway'. I right click on it and adjust the settings and I added a port to a gameserver that I run sometimes. The game server works fine but when I try to add other ports outsiders can never connect. Here's an illustration of what I'm doing: http://worthless.asdfjilk.org/walkthrough.JPG[^] Only the game server will work, I want others to work as well...any suggestions?

Do you have the built in firewall enabled? XP really wants to enable it, so it may be blocking requests for the other ports.

what does the dialog for it look like? I'm not sure if it is or isn't.

I don't know. The first time I fired it up it asked to turn it on and I refused it. Once in a while I see it suggested in Help that I switch it on, but everything else in XP is so bad I don't even want to try it. That being said, here's a step-by-step straight out of the MCSE text: From the Network Connections window, on the machine directly connected to the Internet, right-click My Network Places and select Properties, then Advanced. Check the box labeled "Protect My Computer...", then click Settings at the bottom of the dialog. This displays a list of services running on your network and lets you enable or disable external access to them. You can also add, remove, or edit the settings for services, including the allowed external and internal ports used by each. Have fun...

Having said that, no it wasn't enabled. I'm completely at a loss here now :\
