I just picked up an XL for my new 18.4" Acer and it fits very nicely. Having the two shoulder straps (since it's a backpack-type case) is monumentally easier on your back than the single shoulder strap that normal courier-type bags give you.

It's a great bag. Mine has given many year's durable service and even assisted when some prat tried to mug me - it's amazing what a deterrent 20lbs of bag to the face followed by a swift quick to the groin and the breaking of an arm is :D

My brother had one of these for a while: http://oldcomputers.net/kayproii.html[^] (Cost him $900 used, if I remember right.)

Also cool. I didn't own an Osbourne, but recall having one for some reason at one point. The clone I had at the time had an NEC V20, which could deal with Z80/8080 machine code, and I think I managed to run a Z80 based compiler on some kermit source code on the clone and get the binary running on the Osborne, which I thought was pretty cool. With later advances in medication, I was released under supervision and have, I think, been doing quite well.

I am now in the market for a dual laptop case. because of how work is now, especially encryption requirements, I will need to use a work laptop for homework... and I have my own laptop, which due to legal issues and moonlighting must be done on my own laptop.... I will be splitting at least one week a month away and needing both laptops. As much as I dislike carrying two monsters.... That is a non-negotiable item... which means carrying two. Two bags increase risk and awkwardness, which is slightly worse than two laptops in one bag... thus I need a bag to house two oversized laptops. we're talking good healthy weightlifting laptops: a 17inch Alienware ancient brick and an equivalently large (though somewhat longer) Sony laptop.... I'll shop ebags this evening... but I figured I'd offer it up and see if anyone knows someone as insane as I... and if so... what was their insane choice and how insanely did it work for them?? :)

I've got this 17" laptop bag[^], and it has two laptop-sized pockets. The back one has a divider that has velcro so that it can adjust to smaller laptops, but if you take it off it will be a full 17 inches. I've carried two laptops in it before, but have only tried a 17" laptop and a 15.4" laptop. As long as the laptops aren't really thick they should fit nicely (my 17" is almost 2" thick). The other concern would be the shoulder strap - while this one is strong, it will be an awful lot of weight. You might also find that ergonomically, a backpack works better.

I don't know... the hovercraft option sounds like a lot more fun than a bus.

I use a middle of the road Swiss Army Knife brand backpack, it has a sleeve I put the company laptop in, a 17", and I put the 15.4" laptop next to it in the back. There is still more than enough room for my USB hard disk, two chargers, 4 paper backs, 4 medium hard back books, a car GPS, 5 pounds of change, 2 mp3 players, two headsets, usb charger cables all around, a mp3 to aux input cable, a plug expander and assorted pens, note pads, reading glass in a case, etc. Oh, and the most important thing, there is still room for my herniated disk and all the advil I need to not feel it. Plus it it slings over my shoulders to keep my hands free to deal with stuff.
