I do that thing where I copy something to the clipboard and carry it around for ages, not daring to Ctrl+C again until I've pasted the precious clipboard contents somewhere safe. Quite often, though, I completely forget what I'm carrying around (usually within about 0.5 secs of hitting Ctrl+C) so I paste into notepad to see what I've got. Kinda of like Christmas. But not really. So my lucky dip today was: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms645505.aspx[^] But the thing is: I don't remember going to that page. I haven't used the MessageBox function in years. What's in your clipboard?

Here goes......no idea........the suspense is killing me.... What an anti-climax, its empty! Even checked in in other apps for different clipboard data types and nothing. I feel so let down.

A Capital One credit card. I generally just use a space to clear the Clipboard when I'm done - a habit caused by a mixture of paranoia and attempts to save memory for my more ambitious projects. But just for once, I've saved it. "Close the NetworkStream and TcpClient". They sound like secret codenames. I can imagine System.GC cackling in it's lair as System.Object orders Agent NetworkStream and Operative TcpClient to fall back or risk being Disposed of

Can't put it here since it's a line from an email totally ripping on a former company. Yeah, those bridges have mostly burned and collapsed, but I still do know some people there...

Tonight I copied an ASP 2.0 web site onto a client's machine, and lo! It did not work. It works perfectly on mine, under built in debugger and under IIS 7, and two weeks ago, it worked perfectly on his machine under IIS 6. The only changes I have made are upgrading telerik RadGrid etc. to Q1 2009, and some refactoring. The application fails on two entry point web forms. Both have a RadGrid, which uses a User Control for its editing pop-up. Both forms fail to compile, with a 'Type or namespace JobEditControl not found" error, on a line like this: var editControl = e.Item.FindControl(GridEditFormItem.EditFormUserControlID) as JobEditControl; The control is not referenced in the markup, as it never appears on there, and as I understand it, it should be compiled into the same default namespace as the page is compiled into when first hot. The machine is still serving user controls properly, i.e. the .ascx handler appears healthy, and a quick test page containing a quick test control I added worked fine. Another developer was busy on the machine before me, also installing an ASP.NET application, but I can't think of anything he would have changed. Even being my competition... You asked... I pasted.
