Do you hate using Lotus Notes for email?

I'm actually pleased that our two biggest customers use Notes - it prevented us from trying to stuff an enterprise-level application into Outlook.

I have heard good things about it, but I've never done any developing with it/for it so can't complain about that. To me it just seems that everything I'm used to from a Windows App has been changed in notes, so that I have to spend time into finding out how to do even the most easiest of things. It just feels as if I'm always wasting my time faffing around finding info out for the sodding thing! Or maybe I'm just a dimwit, I think the answer to that's still pending.

I used to use it some 5 years ago now. Yes, it sucked. Thankfully it would crash before it would suck too badly ;)

I used it briefly back in 2000. At that time my initial impression was that the product as a whole seemed very powerful, more so than Outlook, but that its usability sucked big time. So I assume there's been no change so far this decade?

Last I used it was 2 years ago. Its become worse, much worse. See, the source code was so evil and possessed by demons that it escaped the repository it was in and hid behind the door and possessed every developer that walked in, making them under their control. Lotus (anagram of the demon sluto, the spreader of VD) then ordered his now zombie like developers to code with evil intent. last I heard, Stallman was trying to raise a developer army in alliance with the Warriors of Thunderbird (a powerful tribe of developers) and the Wizards of OpenSource along with the Free Lancers at Guru mountain. No news yet of their battle that is to ensue. It will be bloody and we will lose many of our brethren...

I remember using Lotus Notes a few years at a client site, it was like scrapping fingernails down a blackboard. Save me from my memories! X|

delete this;Fully agree with install shield; never used the other two. A bug chunk of the rational team's on my list. Of the tool's I've used ClearCase (source/document control) and ClearQuest (issue tracker) rate all the way up to "they work ok". ReqPro (requirements) and SoDA (document generation) are flakey, cumbersome, and the latter has issues with random windows/office updates breaking it. Functional tester was worse than the prior two. The main requirement for breaking (and requiring several hours of un/reinstall without using any other apps) was ignoring it for more than a week or so and letting it go into a sulk.
