On a related note, I've noticed that people who smoke (especially the heavy smokers) take several smoke breaks a day. And in my last job, they had to go down 2-6 floors to the main level, and from there another 5 floors down to the parking basement where they had a smoking area. At least 15-20 minutes gone per break. I always wondered how these guys got any work done.

        Regards, Nish

the exercise (or did they take the elevators) hopefully balanced out the negative impact of the smoking :sigh:

In my previous job, they blocked news, sports and many other sites on the pretext of *time wasting*. Yet we had people who bring their morning newspaper and spend hours reading it. :-\ :-O

Yusuf Oh didn't you notice, analogous to square roots, they recently introduced rectangular, circular, and diamond roots to determine the size of the corresponding shapes when given the area. Luc Pattyn[^]

Yeah, I think surfing the net only makes you more productive at work if you're surfing for an answer to the question that stopped your productivity in the first place. Note I didn't say programming question. Sometimes the question is "Who was that guy in that movie that was in that other movie?" Still, you can't get back to work until it's been answered.

Don't blame me. I voted for Chuck Norris.
