My 'sort' ? I don't give a damn about any of those things. how about addressing me, instead of my 'sort' ?

Personally, I've always thought of you as a dictionary order, case-sensitive, accent-sensitive sort.

You leftists are so strange: your sort care intensely about "sending signals," your sort care intensely about symbolism (and tokenism) when symbols don't matter; yet, when symbols *do* matter and when "sending (the proper) signals" are very important, your interest is always elsewhere.

If only I showed restraint and maturity in deciding which symbols to care about. Like Grilled Cheese Virgin Mary[^], Potato Chip Jesus[^], Fishstick Jesus[^], Rotten Grape Mary[^], Tree Mary[^], Mother Theresa Cinnamon Bun[^], Potato Mary[^], and of course Virgin Mary Cerebellum[^]. If only I wasn't so hung up on the symbolic insignificance of 77,300 scholarly articles [^] on the phenomenon of brain damage causing personality change.

Amusingly, linking back to my original comment, where I said 'why do you care about this stuff', is the OPPOSITE of proving that I care about them.

No, you only think in terms of stereotypes, you ignore anything that doesn't fit your little world view.

Careful...I read somewhere that bubblesort is considered security risk on Vista systems.

I guess they assumed that the brain damage was caused by the significant head trauma they all sustained. Are you convinced yet, though, that the mind is simply the sum of the chemical reactions occurring in your body?

Why not? Brain damage and drug usage target only the brain, and yet have profound effects on the mind. How can the mind transcend the brain?

You surely don't really believe that. I have a fantastic imagination - I can imagine all the different ways that the world isn't, and never will be. Hey, I'm open to the idea of some currently undiscovered interaction between matter and mind-vapour, but it has to make sense. You can't just say that something undetectable exists, is intrinsically tied to clumps of neurons and violates numerous laws of physics by prompting uncountably many nerve impulses, just because. You also can't criticise me because I don't believe you.

Why not? Brain damage and drug usage target only the brain, and yet have profound effects on the mind. How can the mind transcend the brain?

I never said that chemistry can't affect the mind, I am not convinced that the "mind is simply the sum of the chemical reactions occurring in your body."

...you say this as I migrate my OS and development tools from the "brain" of my laptop to the "brain" of my virtual server host. The software has changed brains and has gone to a better place.

So what is it? If it's not matter, then why is it so strongly affected by chemicals and yet completely undetectable? If I were to take a clump of neurons and carefully, one by one, wire them together like they are in the brain, at what point do they have a mind?
