I made a vpn connection to my home using virtual vpn. Normally i am editting at home, but now i am often outside with my laptop and mobile phone with fast internet. Are there problems with opening the same solution on different pc's , using a mapped vpn network drive?

VPN bandwidth can be limited and there will be lag. I suspect this would be to slow to work with a mapped drive but maybe if you copied the solution to a local drive?

No, the Lounge is fine for this kind of question. Its specific programming questions that are frowned upon. Questions on tools and stuff are perfectly fine, they are quite frequent in fact. At least complaints about tools, OS's, and frameworks are quite often ;P

I'd expect it to be fine but personally would use a source code control system such as subversion of perforce and check out separately to each location for this. That'll also give you history of how your code has changed over time etc.

Use Subversion* to get a local copy onto your laptop? Good practice for projects to keep track of source code changes? * Or a another SCC provider your familiar with? You could also host the source code online, so you can get access to it anywhere? an example of this would be unfuddle.com[^] free, or www.projectlocker.com[^] for about $5 a month (i use the latter with no problem!)

Last July my boss asked me to work from home most days. I used VPN either from my home desktop or from a laptop to remote into the system in my office and access VS with no trouble. I wouldn't try to open the same solution on two systems at once.
