Why So Many Anonymous Authors

Your boss is not only hurting your development as a professional, he is also hurting the company. You should consider working on another company.

i do, constantly. But I want my next change to be self-employment. Still trying to get that set up.
Hello, the codegurus around the world.;) I should have used Anonymous name in the Lounge. X| But, if we post our idea to "Visual C++ question", our boss as well as the future boss will not pissed off if we are the best Visual C++ programmer. Humm, but i'm not sure that I'm the best, better or normal... Visual C++ programmer. Have a nice day. -Masaaki Onishi-

Does your boss read The Lounge too? How would he know if he doesn't read it? Steve Maier, MCSD

I Can understand Anonimity being used in HATE posts, although I don't understand the hate. But why do ppl use anonymous when asking for help on the C++ Board, I find it hard to reply to anonymous posters, ( Not just because I don't know the answers :) ) and would rather reply, to Jack, Jill, or JoJiJo or any Non Deplume, Are the posts being created by ppl who don't want their respective bosses to know they don't know the answer ? Or is nothing sinister and just college kids whose online access doesn't support "cookies" or some other simple explanation. Should I be less serious and change my rule about not replying to anon's posters. Regardz Colin Davies
I don't think CP should allow anonymous postings at all. As radically off the wall as I am, you don't see me hiding behind the "Anonymous" label. If someone wants some measure of privacy and/or anonymity, they should go sit on a toilet in a dark room. If they want to participate in society, they should have to show their face.

I second this opinion. Well put. Jon Sagara "When I was fourteen, I was amazed at how unintelligent my father was. By the time I turned twenty-one, I was astounded how much he had learned in the past seven years." -- Mark Twain

I'm the only full time programmer at my current position. I like to hang out here just to have conversations with other programmers. I just don't want my boss to happen to look in the lounge and find my posts all over the place. Sorry.
My boss is a fulltime manager and goes to meetings and does all of those things that many programmers hate to do. She knows that I write articles and post to boards, but as long as I get the job done, thats what counts. Actually at my last job too, I would not be able to give my boss enough credit to even know what CodeProject is. Steve Maier, MCSD

Well, with my boss I never know when the job is done, because we do not have a development schedule. I start work on something when he thinks of it, and when, at some unspecified point in the future, he likes the look and feel, I start on his next brilliant idea.

I just got my first job recently and it seems we are in the same position. It would be great if we could be given some type of schedule so that we might know if we are doing good or bad.
