    Disrespect[^] Embarrassment[^]

Mike - typical white guy. The USA does have universal healthcare, but you have to pay for it. D'oh. Thomas Mann - "Tolerance becomes a crime when applied to evil." The NYT - my leftist brochure. Calling an illegal alien an “undocumented immigrant” is like calling a drug dealer an “unlicensed pharmacist”. God doesn't believe in atheists, therefore they don't exist.

yes we can, check our history and sing after me: "From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli ..." - simply need a leader with less mouth and more balls.

I bet it would stop pretty damn fast if every time a merchant radioed that he was being attacked by pirates we sent an F15 to blow their little boat out of the water, and followed up with a chopper load of Marines to clear up any pirates who got aboard the merchant. Granted it's hard for naval ships to cover a 10 thousand square miles of ocean, but an aircraft from a fast carrier can reach any point in that area in a matter of minutes. Follow that up by leveling the waterfront and sinking every potential pirate vessel at the nearest Somali port (with appropriate warning to evacuate "civilians"), and the Somali's themselves will put a quick end to the careers aof any new pirate wannabes.

Or: "They've got to be protected, All their rights respected, Until someone we like can be elected." O.K. I'll rephrase it: Because your Navy is currently unable to stop piracy?

The American ship is back under American control - some pirates escaped down the gang ladder, some were thrown overboard and at least one was in custody. Who need the Navy when we've got the Merchant Marine? They better go back to hijacking French ships.

We have a treaty with Nigeria promising to turn over all captured pirates. I think they ought to use a Blackhawk to deliver him - and show him the door at about 200mph and 500 feet.

The vessel, operated by an Italian company, carried a crew of 24, from Bulgaria, Ukraine, Russia and the Philippines. Now why would we bother? :)

Better inform them of the Food from Oil program[^] Food from oil…The creation of synthetic protein from petroleum to help feed food-shortage areas is high on the list of current British and American oil company research projects. (1963) It could compensate for the food lost to Biofuels. :) [Edit for date]

And your solution would be to negotiate with...who? Make the profession unrewarding and they'll find other work.

Did I mention negotiation? Just that your plan appears not to emanate from a military mind.

Beat you by a minute. I'm not sure what that says about either one of us. . . "On Monday, pirates seized a British-owned cargo ship in the Gulf of Aden" And they used to have the finest, meanest, fleet in the world. Maybe we could remind them how its done.

I can just imagine the conversation at the Admiralty: "Whats this going on in the Indian ocean?" "British registered ship has been seized by pirates, Sir" "Who was on board? What the hell is wrong with the Merchant Marine these days?" "It's owned by blasted eye ties and crewed by commies and orientals, Sir" "Do we have to rescue them?" "Already fixed Sir" "We rescued them already??" "No Sir, we Unregistered the ship .. "
