Well, I setup a box today with the 240 day trial of Windows 2008 Server, to see if it is any good. It reminds me alot of vista, same crap with a different logo... I hope windows 7 isn't following the same ui as vista too, that would suck. It would be nice to see some new ideas from the MS group with operating systems...

Try the beta of Windows 2008 R2. Much better, faster, and usable.

Can't wait for the R2 Release. Wonder if it's gonna happen later this year.

The server and desktop product lines are derived from a common codebase. FWIW we're running Windows Server 2008 here and it's rock solid. :)

That's not saying much. You need a better metric Brady!

Better. My boss is currently trying to move our systems to WinServer 2008, part of the time wasting effort :) There is no indication any of our customers is using it, so none of us is installing it yet. Best regards, Paul.

Fair enough. For most part, it looks and operates in a similar fashion to W2k3 (which is on our build server). I actually use W2k8 x64 on a dev box, and I've not had a single issue with it.
