As in subject! You can say whether you like/dislike your job and the reasons you like/dislike them Anonymous posts would be preferred by some people [that's why I didnt post this on the Lounge] Regards, Nish p.s. Perhaps we can compile a set of good "reason-for-leaving-job" quotes!

You ask this to my heart,I am particularly unhappy with my current job recently. When you stay a job too long(say 6 years),and your payment is not even slightly changed though your stress and workload are moderately added, and you can not get new ideas or experiences or progress in the daily work. Then you will be unhappy and considering leaving job. I want others' thoughts. this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

Sorry, add another point. My girlfriend left me because I am not say "ambitious". That made me really sad. this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

I love being a student. It gives me a certain amount of freedom... as regards my job.. in Tech Support... It's a great feeling when you have a real challenge.. but that's a very rare situation.. Normally just the same sh*t everyday... very monotonous. But the people are brillaint and the wage is excellent for a student working part-time... 20 hours a week pays my rent [very cheap flat.. but very nice], bills, food, books software and my socialising [probably about 90% of my wages.. ;-)] so that's why I stay. Regards, Brian Dela :-)

I love my job. I really do. It has everything i want in a job: good coworkers, decent pay, nice location, fast PCs... Oh ok, it could use a few more young female employees, but Life can never be *perfect* i guess... :)

I would have to say that I'm neutral to my current job. I don't like it alot nor do I dislike it alot. However, I don't see myself here in 2 years. PROS: * Good people to work with * Great boss * My role is important to the business and I get to work at a high level. * High level of control over architectural and design issues as well as the code. * Pay is decent - not great - not terrible. * Little or no overtime or weekends CONS: * The company isn't going anywhere. I don't see a longterm future here because my pay cannot increase signifigantly unless the company improves its business and this does not seem to be happening. * The work is not that interesting. There is a lot of "new development", but its based on a technology framework and it's not particularly challenging. * Hours are not that flexible * My development machine is getting pretty dated * I don't get to work with "latest and greatest" technologies * No real benefits except vacation. I pay my own insurance, I have no retirement fund, no bonus package, no special "perks", etc. * No budget for books, training, trade shows, etc. * Due to management issues, many of the things that happen are chaotic and last minute unnecessarily. In the long term the CONS outway the PROS but in the short term it's not terrible, just not ideal.

                            Pros:

                            • Pay is good.
                            • Benefits are good (health/life insurance, vacation, retirement).
                            • Easy commute (20-25 minutes).
                            • Nice facility; includes fitness room, locker room and showers, so I can exercise at lunchtime.
                            • Generally good, competent co-workers, but see con below.

                            Cons:

                            • General management is constantly fiddling with the table of organization. You never know who to deal with to get things done.
                            • Salespeople are absolute twits. They have no clue as to what our products are/are not capable of.
                            • Too many empire builders in middle management.
                            • Some co-workers are technically competent, but their attitudes suck. They'll deliberately misdirect you, just because you work in a different department.
                            • Some co-workers are technically incompetent, and they're always getting shoved off somebody else's project and onto yours.

Nobody should be able to run a guilt trip on her for leaving someone just because they were not ambitious. Ambition for instance imbues other characteristics into a person, characteristics which are powerful.
