I did installed Windows 7 (build 7077) and I'm amazed that I don't need install drivers for any hardware! Weven detected correctly even the fax-modem card, and my multifunctional. Clicking in "Devices and Printers", I can right-click my multifunctional and appeared options to scan files. I don't need install drivers from epson or from my motherboard or... everything! I'm amazed how plug'n play this OS is (and I wonder that "plug'n play" took near 15 years to be real...). Nice work, Microsoft!

How old is your hardware ? I've always found that a new OS has the drivers built in for all my existing hardware. But of course, if you buy new hardware, you will need drivers.

Athlon 64 X2 Motherboard Biostar MCP6P M2+ Multifunctional Epson TX400 Everything works very nice. I didn't need no discs or drivers. I can scan, print, fax, dial-up connect, broadbrand connect, play music and videos without pain. :)

With the caveat that it can't be too old. Or made by HP. And definitely not both.

I assume you got a 5 from the same person who 1s me every time I point out a bug in MS software. If only a 1 vote was all that was needed to fix the crap that Microsoft sells.

I agree! I'm so tired of Visual Studio that in my small personal projects I do only in SharpDevelop. I'm eager for SharpDevelop 4.0 with WPF support...

I'll give you a 5, if that's what it takes for Apple to price their products more reasonably :)

I've only ever had about three freeze-ups in about nine months, and I suspect EA more than MS.

XCode, full version comes with every Mac. I tried it briefly once, didn't seem particularly friendly, but that was about a year ago now, need to sit down and have a proper play with it.

Give the release candidate a go when it's released. It really is what Vista should have been.

I don't need install drivers from epson or from my motherboard or... everything! I'm amazed how plug'n play this OS is (and I wonder that "plug'n play" took near 15 years to be real...). Nice work, Microsoft!

XCode, full version comes with every Mac. I tried it briefly once, didn't seem particularly friendly, but that was about a year ago now, need to sit down and have a proper play with it.

It's not like Visual Studio, for better or worse. It does take some getting used to, and it has a LOT more annoying quirks for those of us used to VS.

I agree! I'm so tired of Visual Studio that in my small personal projects I do only in SharpDevelop. I'm eager for SharpDevelop 4.0 with WPF support...
