    Hi, if plane 1 heading to Beijing from Lahore at the speed of 500mph, and plane 2 heading from Beijing to Lahore at the speed of 1000mph . at their crossing point (eachother) which one will be most near to lahore ? i am sorry if i am on the wrong forum , but i need some immediate responce.

        At the crossing point they are both at the same distance from Lahore by definition.

            At the time the two planes are passing each other, they are, by definition, the same distance from any other point (as they are essentially in the same location as they pass each other, ignoring the slight offset so they don't crash into each other).

              Exactly, that explains the answer well. Explaining the question is rather more difficult. Presumably the numerous and horrible problems with it are intended to distract from this single inescapable fact.
