So she's into the 'our country' thing but doesn't agree with our founding fathers that these things should be handled at the local level. She wants it to be dictated from on high by a central government? Sounds like a typical liberal to me. :)

She just sounds confused to me, and it's no stretch of the imagination to assume that she is quite confused. I routinely confer that attribution to anyone over sixteen years old that justifies their stance as "how they were brought up". She supports traditional marriage. So what? Who is campaigning for the abolition of traditional marriage? Besides the avowed and evil socialist agenda.

you've read a lot into a few sentences, where did you see a mention of a central government? she's from California, which has dealt with it locally, why wouldn't you assume that she's in Washington to kick off a 49 state effort?

Why else would she be at the hub of our federal government? That is where people go to lobby the federal government and try to tell others what and how to think.

There's a Congresscritter from Texas in the House of Reps who is putting together a law forbidding the NCAA from calling any game a national college football championship unless it is the product of a playoff series. Since we seem to be at this level of micromanagement, why shouldn't she want to save some time and money by getting this bozo to tell us about marriage, too? Maybe he can roll both concepts into one bill and call it the National Protection of College Football and Tradional Marriage Act.   I am sure that Obama would sign NPCFTM as soon as it crossed his desk.

by throwing a pissy fit and literally threatening the lives of people that opposed same sex marriage. the "battle" began as a public referendum and it outlawed same sex marriage. the gay and lesbian community along with their backers took the issue of the referendum to the state supreme court that ruled it unconstituitional. the opponents of same sex marriage then sponsored an amendment to the state constituition, and it passed. now the gay and lesbian community are trying to get that same state supreme court to say that an amendment to the state constituition is unconstituitional. so the blathering you see earlier in the thread about local decisions is precisely that, blathering.

Bullshit. I have no problem with the results in the CA election. What I have a problem with is people who want the federal government being involved in local issues.

So she's into the 'our country' thing but doesn't agree with our founding fathers that these things should be handled at the local level. She wants it to be dictated from on high by a central government? Sounds like a typical liberal to me. :)

Please! You're not stupid. And it's near impossible to believe that you so ignorant about what hase been going on for at least 50 years that you simply can't see the falsity of what you've said. There is only one other option to explain why you'd say this false thing.

I am too cynical to believe that she and her group are in the capitol and will not be lobbying congress. Are you willing to take odds that it wont happen?

But that was about taxes, this is about protecting the world from the possibility that the Sooners and the Warriors will play for a national championship without a chance for the Aggies' alumni to get into drunken brawls in the stadium parking lot. God God, man, have you no sense of priorities???

You mean the federal government becoming more and more involved with the daily lives of it's citizens? Or, do you mean the republican and democratic party abandoning all sense of the rule of law? Or, do you mean bills being passed in congress and signed by the president that are the equivalent of a Rube Goldberg machine in writing? Or, do you mean the complete loss of level headiness by the electorate as the country seems like it is on a course to continually swing from one extreme of leadership to the other and people outsource their thinking to talking heads on radio and TV? Or, is it the complete lack of long term thinking in this country that you are referring to? Because there has been a lot of bs happening during my lifetime and I really want nothing to do with it.
