If you think Vista x64 SP1 was a mess, just wait for W7 to start going belly up when you start hammering it. XP is a Rolls Royce in comparison to all the mess last and new upgrade cycles are causing across the many suites of products and mountains of bloat they build.. It's just pointless, now they make IE8 default and so much more. Never ever was a better time to learn a new OS.. this MS update and bloat crap is past unbelievable by now. Don't even get me started on crippled VPC 2007 and 'scoring' nonsense.. They will invent anything to sell yet another OS and Office and everything else just slowly draining every little drop of imagination they ever had. And btw, all new and old software performs crap on everything beyond 5.2. Heck SP2 kicked of making things so slow and fat it is just incredible.

Just out of curiosity does your system meet the system recommended requirements for Vista or for Windows 7? I'm not saying that to be sarcastic I'm really curious. I have a Dell system that was built to be 64-bit Vista compatible and it runs Vista way better than any install of XP ever ran for me. What are the specs of your system? If you don't know for sure download Belarc Advisor (it's free) and run a system scan then copy and paste the part that tells the specs of your system. I'd really like to see them. Just for grins how old is your system?

Ah, a random rant from a complete ignoramus, or is that troll? My day is now complete. In case you didn't notice, Windows 7 isn't released yet.

Ah the amateur Release Candidate lovers.. Look, it's very simple. MS just keep selling you crap you keep buying into time and time again. What's worst it makes you more ignorant of alternatives on a whole new level, yet again and again. Never ending story..

For grins it's the Nehalem EP and dozens of Xeon 5100 and 5400 and lots of SAS disks.. Frog, seriously, just use Google and look out for blue screen keyword. There never ever was a more crappy OS than Vista in terms of performance or uselesness or frustration (but hey, sheep defend anything). Full of candy, and full of crap dragging itself. Only a complete layman could claim Vista, Server 2008 or Windows 7 runs smoother than XP or Server 2003; it's just living in dreams. Like those guys living in dreams whenever they launch a few Silverlight apps in a browser and pretend it hasn't eaten 70% of their RAM and CPU resources.. Jokers..
