I wish I had an appropriate camera, and the means to transfer it to my computer and encode it as a mpeg file. Alas, that will have to wait until I find employment... So many ideas... so few resources.

This is a question purely from curiosity, and especially for those of us addicted to having the latest-and-greatest: What do you do with the old components (that still work)? I tend to keep mine lying around until I have enough to make a new (old) computer. Then I put the reborn machine together and, typically, give it away to someone who can use it. Usually minus the screen however. So what do you do? Sell 'em, junk 'em, give them away? Only change is constant

PCs are like heirlooms, they get handed down in our family. Also, up, left and right. My nephew needed a reasonable PC for home study so it helped me justify a new PC :-D Elaine (spent up fluffy tigress) Would you like to meet my teddy bear ?

It is:-) Cheap Russian ammo for my AK provides endless opportunities for entertainment. As soon as it cools down enough to go out in daylight, I plan to ventilate a genuine, vintage IBM PS/2 I have taking up space in storage. I'd like to have a video of the event for advertising purposes - "Bugs Vanquished, or the Next Clip is Free.":-D I think it would be a nice addition to my website...
AK eh? I envy you americans! In order to get a license for a fully automatic rifle in Sweden you practically have to be an officer. Yet another reason to get a green card. :-D Preferred storyline: - I am your father. Search your feelings and you'll know it's the truth. Perhaps I should clarify... We don't have fully automatic weapons here. When you read about people being hosed down by a maniac with an automatic it's a false report. The liberal media deliberately lies to make it sound worse than reality. The "assault" weapons we're allowed to have are no more than hunting rifles with magazine capacities larger than the usual 5 rounds. Both my AK-47 and SKS have semi-automatic actions, just like Dad's Remington deer rifle. The SKS, being a rather shoddy product, does have a nasty habit of randomly firing 3-shot bursts when it gets warm, but that's more an annoyance than a feature. On the other hand, unlike the AK, it never jams and isn't picky about the kind of ammo I use; the AK requires Russian military rounds to properly operate the extraction mechanism.

I don't know about better... but it is a nicely made machine. The ammo makes the difference though. Years ago I bought a few thousand rounds, not realizing that they were armor piercing until I popped of a round at a steel I-beam and punched a neat, round hole through it:eek: I've been trying to use that up for a while, and I'm down to the last few boxes, since they made it illegal a few years ago. Not to possess, mind you, but illegal to manufacture or sell. It's perfectly okay to keep and use what I have, but I'm not likely to ever need to stop a train with it, so I see no reason to hang on to it.

Yeah... there's a kit available for the SKS, but it's a felony to install it. A full auto shotgun sounds dangerous - how the heck do you control that beast? The last time I fired a shotgun I was 9 years old - it sat me right down, and I haven't been tempted to ever own one.
