Would you walk into a bar and tell people there that drinking beer is for stupid people? I don't think so. But here is what Bill had to say when CPians pointed out that he shouldn't post "commercial" articles without source code: Bill SerGio wrote: It is clear that you guys are NOT entrepreneurs and feel that a small salary from an employers is enough for your families! Ok, so he does bend the rules a bit, and does tend to overdo the self-promotion, but at the end of the day, the guy creates some nifty stuff. I have learned some useful information from some of his past articles, and although I do not agree with everything he says, including his mentioned comment above, he has just as much right to be here than anyone else. I wouldn't say he is ignorant either - he doesn't throw personal comments at attacks. I think a simple warning would be enough informing him of the rules on CP.

just yesterday I was rummaging through old lounge posts, and wondered "what's up with Mr. BS? Long time not heard"... On his article, I think using variable names like "momma" is an offense to sensible types like me, and BS should seriously check his color vision.

I will post the code for the dll on my website if readers would like it--I didn't because i was tired and it is NOT the point of the article. 3. I respect anyone who works for a living--my dad worked for a company and supported his family. But I want MORE for my family and so I go out and provide jobs which is more noble. 4. I think he actually meant that it offended his sensibilities after having it beaten into his head that all variable names should be descriptive. I had a friend at uni who'd just pick things as animals or countries for his variable names, so you'd get code like for( zebra = 1; zebra < elephant; zebra++ ) (and the actual code had nothing to do with animals) -- Help me! The guy has a SERIOUS ego problem and a SEVERE lack of appropriate etiquette. I also believe him to have a deep-rooted sociological disorder (take your pick, though I am not a doctor) as he seems to have a very clear problem conversing with people of different viewpoints. Bill SerGio wrote: My goal was to share the concept of HOW TO WRITE FREEWARE! You can write freeware without having adverts in it. Don't forget that many people make apps and release them as a hobby, and don't actually have any interest in making money from them. For one thing, my employer and the taxman would have questions to ask if I was earning money from software I made in my own time! Bill SerGio wrote: 2. Yeah, the main thing I have against him is that he doesn't give credit where it's do. He steals code and ideas and promotes it as his own. I have not seen the first original idea come from him, but yet he tries to act like he is innovative and a genius. A genius he is not; he's a liar! A carefully selected, streamlined series of questions provided in real-time conversation could prove that. I didn't buy a copy of it though -- I suspect really that is what it's purpose was, i.e. you are told "you are a valuable member of the professional engineering community" and thus buy the book afterwards to see you name "in lights".
