The message itself is saying that there is an easier way to do things. There is no name-calling, or anything derogatory in the message. So no, I don't think the message is too harsh. The message subject line ("Nice Joke") is another matter, and is insulting and sarcastic. I would not have written this, but OTOH I have seen far worse in the forums. In my opinion this falls short of being abusive.
