Anyone knows if it's possible to get a download the complete Platform SDK. If you launch the installer from the web, it wants to install it over the internet :( I to downloaded all the files (550 MB) from ftp.microsoft.com, but when launching the installer from the download dir, it still want's do download the files instead of using the local copies. ARGHHH!! I have a couple of machines that I want the latest Platform SDK on, but I don't want to download 550 MB from each of theese. Anyone have a solution? (downloadable, not ordering the CD...) - Anders

Yep - you need to unplug your network cable while installing - the damn installer finds your connection and ignores the local files... Christian The content of this post is not necessarily the opinion of my yadda yadda yadda. To understand recursion, we must first understand recursion.

Tried that, then the installer was "thinking" for about 30 secondt ending up telling me it could not start, because it could not find the files... - Anders

You should run the psdk-x86.msi file, not the EXE. --Mike-- http://home.inreach.com/mdunn/ The Signature, back by popular demand: Buffy. Pajamas.

I'd guess you either don't have all the files, or you need to incorperate my and Michaels suggestion. I spent a day trying to install the SDK before someone here told me I needed to make sure I was not connected to the net and then I had no trouble. For some reason, the ftp site is dropping out on several of the files, regardless of which of several machines I'm using. The i386.exe, the i386.msi and several of the .cab files (large and small). Is anyone else seeing a similar problem, or is it a local difficulty (I'm in the UK, and behind a local firewall. PASV mode doesn't help.) Matthew  Matthew Adams Development Manager Digital Healthcare Ltd

Is a day of your time really cheaper than paying for the CDs? Stephen Kellett

That said, the Feb PSDK turned up in my MSDN sub this morning, so I was wasting the internet's bandwidth. :) Matthew Adams Development Manager Digital Healthcare Ltd

Sorry, do you have an FTP program that requires you to download one file at a time ? I pointed WS_FTP to the feb01 directory on the M$ FTP site, and while I spent the day programming, it merrily downloaded the SDK in the background.
