Ah, such eloquence. How can I hope to argue with such wit, such repartee ?

If that happens, it won't be an unemployed junkie who is scared to leave the house that is likely to 'dominate' me. Here's an interesting question. I am reasonably well off, and I would defend a view that human rights mostly means the rights of the poor, the wealthy being able to look after themselves. You're unlikely to ever see $1000 in one place, and you reject this view. How does that work ?

A waste of mankind ? hmm.... I assume by this you're actually completely ignorant of the fact that the US wastes more energy than anyone else on the planet ?

I'm not and I don't think many people are. I am in favour of policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but I don't see that that requires significant monitoring of households beyond what is already taking place (e.g., electricity companies already know how much electricity you use, and bill you accordingly; with carbon trading, the price of electricity will go up and so you'll pay more).

So, if 3% of the worlds population uses 25% of the worlds energy, then that means that 3% is more responsible than anyone else for wasted resources. I'm not suggesting you're not allowed to use it, I am saying that any attempt to get people to conserve energy is best directed at the people who waste the most.

Papua New Guinea ? Or do you mean China ? China is the biggest problem the world has today, in terms of resources. No question about that in my mind. China and India are the main reasons the world is screwed, but the main reason is, they have a lot of people, they have money, and they want the same standard of living as we have. I can see why they'd feel that way. Personally, I try to buy 'fair trade' goods whenever I can, and I would accept a drop in my standard of living, in order for people elsewhere to be able to live better. However, I don't see any way to convince China that they don't deserve coal fired power stations, and so long as they keep building them, like I said, we're probably all screwed.

Well, I guess it depends on your POV. you're using more energy than anyone else on earth. I assume you don't set out to waste anything, so I guess it's more correct to say that people in the US are accustomed to a more energy intensive lifestyle.

I guess that depends. If you believe that resources such as oil and gas are limitless, and don't believe humans have any affect on global temperatures, then what you do is your business.

Freakin' awesome. If I don't know, how about explaining it to me, instead of insulting me ? Is that YOUR definition of empathy ?

Amusingly, my descendants are German and Dutch, and I am a first generation Australian. My parents came here at the request of the government, not as prisoners. Either way, it's not surprising to me that a Nazi such as yourself believes in eugenics. That is, of course, the underpinning of the holocaust that I presume you don't believe happened.

Frankly my own government pisses me off greatly because we're barred from tapping into reserves we have as a way of pushing us to crap (my opinion) green sources (wind, sun) while making significant usew of nulcear energy an impossibility.

Humans may well have an affect on global temperatures but instead of crawling back into a cave (sarcasm to make a point) we need to adapt. The earth is far froma static orb and has changed continuously if we don't learn to adapt as did our primitive anscestors then we don't belong here.

Yeah, that seems reasonable to me. As prices go up, things like oil from shoal become feasible, etc.

Nuclear is the only viable option I can see. I mean, wind and sun sound nice, but even if they work for hippies, they plain do not scale well.

"I do see this opportunity for climate change to be ... a game-changer," she said at Tsinghua. "It's a place where human rights — looking out for the needs of the poor in terms of climate change and healthy environment — are a human right." So in her definition human rights means welfare for the poor when business and the 'rich' are being screwed by carbon taxes (Cap & Trade and what have you) In answering a question from a student about how Pelosi was going to get Americans to cut back on their carbon emissions, the leading Democratic lawmaker said it was important to educate children on how to conserve energy Which means get children to believe all their lies and bullshit. "We have so much room for improvement," she said. "Every aspect of our lives must be subjected to an inventory ... of how we are taking responsibility." This makes my NWO conspiracy sound real to non-believers doesn't it? Think about how 20 years from now technology will be used against us. We probably don't have to wait that long. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5hLcZ2jQ4mu4rd7XlB3hetiVn1qbAD98F32AG0[^]
