This could be legitimate or it could just be a bug that's gonna get someone over at MS fired in the morning, but apparently if you reside in the US, Canada or the UK, you can get yourself a free 3 month subscription to TechNet Plus.

The end of the article reads that expiration date is '1/1/1900'. Once products RTM their available pretty much instantly on MSDN and TechNet. I've got an MSDN account anyways so I'm not fussed but same rules apply :)

How did you infer that I said it's not one? :) Seriously, apart from a couple of annoyances with Windows Explorer, I haven't had any problems with it. It runs fast enough on my laptop (dual core/2 GB RAM), and has been running reliably ever since I installed it.

All kidding aside - at work, all the devs use Vista64, and all of us started experiencing the mysterious dropped network connectivity problem. It required a registry hack to fix - you'd have thunk that MS would have come put the fix into SP1 (it's been a known issue since the original Vista release date).

Do you have any info on this? Just curious since I've not seen any problems at home with V64 ult.

There's some debate as to whether this is legitimate or not - regardless, MS have pulled the plug now. I downloaded a few bits and saved the keys, but I'm gonna wait to see how this plays out legally before I install anything.
