Whilst browsing I came across a collection of statements specific to the 2nd Amendment that you might find interesting. Includes Founders as well as a few others. the link[^]

Than why was Wyatt Earp able to do exactly the same thing and it never became a constitutional issue? I'm pretty sure those ol' cowboys were more attached to their firearms than anyone around today is.
Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

Too many johnny-come-neos are running around telling people who have thought of themselves as conservatives all of their life, they aren't because they don't cross this "t" or that "i." I forget what the actual numbers are, but I believe that something like 35% of Americans identify themselves as conservative, but only 20% of them identify themselves as Republicans - supposedly the conservative party. I remember when Ronald Reagan said, "I didn't leave the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party left me." Now the same thing is happening on the other side of the aisle. If I remember it correctly, the reverse of those stats is also true: only 20% of Americans identify themselves as liberal, but 35% of them consider themselves Democrats.

I would say... 1) Personal responsibility 2) Personal responsibility 3) Personal responsibility 4) Personal responsibility and, last but not least... 5) Personal responsibility And of course those top 5 add up to mean more freedom through less government. And just imagine a world where the majority of people in government were responsible people. The thought of that Utopia gives me the warm fuzzies.

Good point, there are quite a few (Bush Jr, Cheney) Conservatives leaders and pundits too who actively avoided service while talking a lot about military and honor. That's one thing I have to respect about McCain, even though I obviously disagree with his ideas — he did actually serve.
