The venerable Soapbox takes another blow, now explicitly marked as being for "off-topic rants". Well, i'm sorry, but i don't know if i can take this. What room does this leave, i ask you, for the carefully crafted "on-topic rants", and "tangent-to-the-topic rants"? Is there no room left in this modern world for the "fringe-rants", the "troll rants", the "water rants"? I ask you now, because though it has not yet occurred, surely it cannot be long before we see rants excluded solely on the basis of their relation to a topic. This apartheid system of rants, with the supposed "cream of the crop" B12-enriched Lounge rants taking front and foremost, with top billing on the main page, leaving the "scum", the "off-topic rants" in the ghettos of The Soapbox, not only encourages class warfare between the two, but by enforcing two rigid standards for post topic relations, it squelches diversity. And what about posts such as this? Surely a topic as loaded as this can only safely exist in The Soapbox. But, given that it *is* on-topic, can it be allowed? Will it be forced into the unfriendly Lounge, to wither and die amongst the good ol' boy "kewl flash site of the day" posts? Or will it be labeled unfit for either forum, and banished to the wastelands of "Suggestions" or "General Discussion", to live out its short life in obscurity and hardship? These questions may offend some people, but they need to be asked. Are we so afraid of the changes diversity of topic relation bring that we must chain ourselves to rigid conformity, or are we willing to step forward with arms wide open, and welcome with an open mind the opinions, comments, and insane ramblings of the masses. My brothers, i have a dream, that one day rants will not be judged on their relation to the topic at hand, but solely on their ability to inform, entertain, or piss others off. That one day, rants of all lengths and topics can exist together, under one subject which bears no relation to any topic itself. I urge you now, Stand up, CPians, rant, post, and be counted among the free. Shog9 ------ If you really what to get shitfacde tell a crowded bar that is is yourt borthday and hife your wallet. you ka will many more friends.

Unfortunately we now have to bow to the gods of Political Correctness and Good Taste. Both of which are extremely subjective. I long for the days of my childhood where you could call a cunt a cunt. If anybody stepped over the line, even a child, they would get a serious smack to the head and all of this was acceptable to society. I also have had a guts-full of what has been happening to off-topic rants. It appears that the feminazis are controlling us with idiotic political correctness. Is there a clear distinction between off-topic and on-topic subjects. And if so who decides ? We are living under an oppresive tyranny who seek to abuse our individual rights with their ideologies of appeasement. I take my hat of to you Shog9 for raising this off-topic subject at the severe risk of loosing yours and your loved ones safety. Lets fight the bastards to the death. !!! Regardz Colin J Davies

This us no laughing matter, If this forum is for oof ropic rantsm. Well where are we to place On-Topic rants. If we place an on-topic pist here, it will be designated off-ropic, and the inverse applies. By the way I don't have small feet. Regardz Colin J Davies
