Hey people, I want to conduct a very informal poll. I've heard often people say, when making small talk, that people who are involved in math, science and computers tend to be good musicians as well. I sing in a few choral groups, play the piano, and compose music. (Where has my life gone  ) Anyone else involved with music in some way? ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be research." -- Albert Einstein Cheers, Brian Hart

Hey all, I'm a multi-instrument musician. I play guitar(lead and rhythm) bass, drums and keyboards. These days I seem to be not getting too much practice. Coding seems a better fun-thing to do! Hush..Hush.. thought I heard you calling my name now...

Well, I bought my 4 year-old kid a small drum kit when he was 2. And it's amazing what this little kid can play (specially when I'm sleeping or have a headache! :)

I joined the Vienna's Boys Choir when I was 8 and later on studied conducting & composing. I'm playing the piano for more than 20 years now. I'm deeply involved into recording , electronic-instruments stuff and musically directing shows and musicals. I just started to programm because my dream of a perfect midi-masterkeyboard-software for keyboarders, studio-cracks or threatre-technicians never came true. No company ever did the ultimative thing, yet. I will do it...;) Manfred --- Programming is knowing...

Well, I begin to think that they were right... ;) I'm a programmer for about 10 years now and been playing bass guitar and keyboards (mostly bass nowadays) for about 15 years. Been in some bands (rock and pop, mostly). Maybe it's the creative instinct?

Allow me to camp out at the other end of the bell curve: 10 years of majoring in maths and physics and the height of my musical ability was playing recorder in 7th grade ;) cheers, Chris Maunder

I am an expert drummer on the steering wheel of my car when a good song comes on the radio. My four year old son is pretty impressed by this skill. For now anyway. :-D Michael Martin Pegasystems Pty Ltd Australia martm@pegasystems.com +61 413-004-018

I love music so much that I became a music software developer. My forays outside this little industry have been disappointing and depressing. As far as playing.. I'm a synth hack. Love the modulars, never became much of a keyboard player. But I still get some stuff done.

I play guitar and piano and sometimes pretend I know how to sing. Playing/composing/recording for 30+ years, less now than before :-(. The morbidly curious (or just plain bored) can check out . Cheers, /ravi "There is always one more bug..." http://www.ravib.com ravib@ravib.com

I was a big "band geek" through out high school and college. I was a brother of the Band Fraternity, Kappa Kappa Psi. I play Baritone/Euphonium, Trombone, Tuba, Trumpet, and Piano. I marched all through college and played in several ensembles. I also sang in the Men's Glee club all the way through college. Now I pretty much listen to music and go to Drum Corps shows. I'd like to join a chorus at some point, though church choir was too boring.
