Grin and bare it. There's pretty much FA you can do. If you dont want your stuff stolen, don't post it on the web. Sad, but true.
I know what you're saying. It especially irritates me that their website beat out the codeproject's website in search rankings. Maybe I should yell at Google. ;)

Fancy leading a small invasion force to take over France? I'm not predicting much resistance.
If at first you don't succeed, you're not Chuck Norris.

Dissing the french army is sooo last century.
Don't attribute to stupidity what can be equally well explained by buerocracy.

Definitely let Chris know through the suggestions board. At worst, he says "Sorry, Pal!". At best, his basement holds an semistarved adrenalinized lawyer that needs his yearly "little workout".

So I spent a lot of time on some code and submitted it in an article. I recently did a search on the name of the engine and found that the first few results came from another guy who used the engine and posted my code but removed my name in comments from the source code, like he was the one who did it. I sent him a message a few days ago telling him to put my info back in or remove the project, but never heard back. It was a french website, but I translated the message and I'm sure he knew what I was saying. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should do?
It seems that Willi fellow that thieved you're work is an administrator on that site, so it seems unlikely that the people who run the site care very much if they let people like that become an admin. It's also rather likely that the dude has copied a fair bit of other code as well. Apparently there are also 69 other admins too, maybe if you sent an e-mail to all of them.

I know that website (I've used it myself before) and I'm pretty sure that the admin of the website are not responsible. Like you said it is something similar as CP: anybody can post articles an claim they are theirs. Did you try to contact the administrators of the website ?

- Start up an online petition! 2) In the petition demand they cease and desist, or you will become more powerful than they can possibly imagine! 3) Send a letter to the FSF and EFF informing then of the incredible lack of ethics in the aforementioned individual! Make they send *both* RMS and Eben "Take No Prisoners" Moglen to talk to the poor demented fool! 4) ??? 5) Profit!!!

Actually a french-kiss sounds disgusting to me.. no I've never dared to try. Licking someone's tongue just isn't something I'd do voluntarily.

Yes. Get plenty of sleep -- i.e. don't lose any. Just forget it. It's only a bit of code; you can always write more -- and you have the satisfaction of knowing that even the poor moron who stole it knows that he's not as good as you.
