I finally fixed my dirt bike!
-
It took all day and a big dirty oily face to get it done but... it was worth it! The guy I got it from was supposed to have "redone" the engine, and when I got it it seemed to be okay but after a while the compression just disappeared. So a week ago(seeing as I'm finished school), I decided to have a look at it to see what was wrong. It turns out that the power valves were sticking out into the cylinder too much. You should have seen the chunks gone out of the piston! :omg: I ordered a new piston and other bits and pieces last week and they arrived today, so I went at it this morning and now it's finished and going better than ever. The sheer power of it when it hits the power band :omg: This is my first "real" dirt bike because the last one I had was a little 50cc one  so I've never experienced power like it before!

Talking about bikes... Two weeks ago, while I was driving my bike[^] back home, I met with an accident. I had to jam the brakes to avoid hitting a stupid person who drove crazy and took a sudden turn from his lane and came dangerously close in front of me. And because I was not ready for that kind of a sudden brake, I lost control over the bike and fell down and injured both my palms and my right knee. Fortunately, this happened *right* in front of a hospital and I got immediate medical attention. I was like on the bed for a couple of days (didn't go to office for a few days, worked from home and all that stuff), but now I've completely recovered. Fortunately, no bones were broken (the bike was damaged to some extent though). I had convinced my parents that R1[^] is the safest bike in the world and I will be buying it in some time. But after I met with this road accident, they want me to stop driving a bike at all and get myself a car. Not to mention that I won't be allowed to buy the R1. :| BTW, I have always had a hatred for cars and craze for bikes. This accident has made me think more on that though...

Nice bike! This is mine[^] I'd like to get a bike like that someday, but it's so damn hard to get a licence here at this age especially. Even if I could get one I'd be so limited that it'd be no fun at all :( I mean thats what bikes are all about, arent they? As well as that I'd still have my parents to go through, so I think I'll stick to off road bikes for now. My Dad has a few bikes and the adrenaline rush even riding on the back is cool

Me too. I don't really hate cars but I prefer bikes.

Is it OK now? Is it working as earlier? Poor bike...I feel bad for it. And by the way, you recovered? ;P

The bike is at the company workshop currently. The following parts are damaged: The front fork assembly and the front rim assembly, the silencer assembly and muffler, the headlamp cover, headlamp casing, the digi-console, the handle bar, right side rear-view mirror, front right indicator. Most of the stuff that were damaged (along with my leg) were on the right side of the bike, as I fell to the right. The crash guard saved the rest of the stuff on my bike (and possibly my life). I've asked them to replace the whole of the stuff that has been damaged (instead of repairing anything, irrespective of the extent of the damage). My best on this bike was 118 KPH (and NO, I'm not driving at that speed, ever again. Thanks for asking. :-D ). I was wearing the toughest shoe I know of and own (from Woodland, crafted with camel leather). And that saved my foot. The shoe is only 14 days old and has a 3 months unconditional replacement warranty. So, I'll get a new pair of shoes. :) Oh yeah. I've recovered completely too. :)
