Maybe it is just a publicity stunt. Douglas Adams is spending some years dead for tax reasons.

Twitter just exploded[^]; I'm measuring about 9000 Michael Jackson-related tweets every 3 seconds.

It's official. KTLA reports that LAPD has confirmed his death. The American Institute of Cosmetic Surgery has declared a week of mourning...

Since Michael Jackson was 99% plastic, he will be melted down and molded into legos so that children can play with him for a change.

Oh crap... Now we're going to have to see sightings of him at Walmart in the tabloid headlines while trying to buy groceries. That just puts me off lunch altogether. X|

Well plainly no one here is a major MJ fan. So therefore let the jokes in very poor taste proceed. Here's a classic: Only in America can an abused little black kid grow up to be a rich white woman. Then there was the one about him doing a cover of the Elton John classic, singing: " Don't let your son, go down on me ..."

I just love Koalas - they go great with Bacon.

Was he ever alive? Since childhood, I mean... Maybe he died in surgery during his first nosejob, and everything since has been attributable to a bionic replacement part. That would explain a lot of things, given the state of the art in bionics back then... I'm not aggrieved in the least at his passing - an overdue end to a bad piece of work. But I am pissed at the waste of a born talent of such magnitude. As a child he was a credit to his race and his generation, and did much to further the cause of both. A brilliantly talented young man, he practically defined the 'music video' genre, and I think he was possibly responsible for the success of MTV. What more could a young black man in America ask of life? Except, perhaps, to be white... What a terrible waste - not now, but then. I never liked his music, I never liked his style, but I recognize genius when I see it and I'm glad to have seen him in his prime. May he rest in peace, at long last.:rose:

I heard that he's going to be cremated on a pyre of exploding Pepsi cans - no word yet on the music for the funeral service...

Amen, his contribution to show biz was enormous, pity this same show biz turned him into a shadow of himself.

Heh. You know, its actually an easy way to keep up on the tech and programming worlds. Well, if you ever decide to get on there, follow Elijah Manor[^], Scott Hanselman[^], Jeff Atwood[^], Phil Haack[^]. And me[^], of course. :)
