Stoned wallabies make crop circles[^] Not only is the headline fantastic, but so are the comments :-D

I resent this report that we are high as a kite and making crop circles! I haven't been stoned since 1971. A few young hoppers eat the wrong plant and you trash our species in the news. What's this world coming to! Wally Baby, Australia Bush The question should be whether or not those law breaking wallabies should be brought to justice for indulging in illegal substances. The law makes no exceptions for no-one no matter what their excuse is or even what species they may be. They are not setting an example for their joeys nor for any other marsupials and I fear this could become an epidemic of outback size proportions. Phil, Edinburgh

    Cheers, Vikram.

Recent activities: TV series: Friends, season 9 Books: Freakonomics, by Steven Levitt and Stephen J Dubner.

Might be funny, but consider that the US supreme court has said exceptions from laws prohibiting illegal substances can be made for religious groups (who believe they need to take them) but not for medical purposes (as California attempted), and you may feel more like weeping than laughing.

The laws in the US usually exists for reasons other then what they appear. The drug laws are used for our gov't to police the world and keep the prison industry profitable. It has nothing to with preventing drug use. There is not one shred of evidence anywhere that the drug prohibition cuts down on drug use. This weekend the gov't is pretending to be cutting carbon emissions. Really they are creating the next investment bubble for Goldman Sachs.[^] I could go on and on about this but this lounge and not really the place.
