"Languid, vertical, and without a register?"(8) Shouldn't take you long.

I was thinking Listless but that would be both languid and without a register, can't have 2 uncryptic parts to it

listless A synonym for languid a boat that isn't listing would be vertical register = list, so without a register = listless

You are right, but Languid is Listless, not Cryptic, synonym. The other bits are cryptic. It is Friday, I try to make them easier on Fridays so as not to tax the brain too much. Sorry about delay, I was working! (Shock, Horror, Gasp!)

I don't understand the solution. A register is a list and without one you have listless, where does vertical come into it?

To List is to Lean, if you are Vertical, you have No List.

So it's not just coincidence that I only ever get them right on Fridays!
