I need to install a web proxy server locally on my machine to simulate a corporate environment that has one. Any recommendation on such a proxy server (free preferably)? Thanks!

There are quite a few free, small ones, but I cant recall the names. IIRC, the ugliest ones was the easiest to get going and have working :)

      xacc.ide
      IronScheme - 1.0 beta 3 - out now!
      ((lambda (x) `((lambda (x) ,x) ',x)) '`((lambda (x) ,x) ',x))

The one I always end up recommending is Squid[^]. Or you could use Fiddler[^], and gain a debugging tool in the process :-)

Java, Basic, who cares - it's all a bunch of tree-hugging hippy cr*p

No idea, never heard of it. You'll have to try it, I guess.

I have had good success with squid, however I have only used it on linux.

SafeSquid Personal for Windows or SafeSquid Composite Edition 20 for Linux. Both are free and you can actually configure advanced filtering options, to replicate corporate environment. You can download it from here[^]
