    If VS90SP1-KB971092-x86.exe failed with the message "VC Libraries QFE Patch does not apply, or is blocked by another condition on your system. Please click the link below for more details." This appears to occur if VS2008 is installed without C++. It has been reported at https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=478117[^] Please go there and vote if you have had a problem.           When you installed Visual Studio did you include C++ (or just accept the default installation)?

              It updated fine, just took almost three hours to do it. And who would install VS 2008 without C++? That's just nuts.

                Some of us program in C# or VB.NET not in C++ and with the need to economise on space on the C drive, components like C++ within Visual Studio get deselected.
