Simple and Delicious

That's too bad. My favorite hot sauce (Devils Breath[^]) uses balsamic vinegar instead of the normal type; and is part of why it tastes different (and much better) than every other similarly hot competitor on the market. Conflict of Interest Warning: Devil's Breath Chili Company is owned and run by friends of mine. :) Edit: Added shameless plug and disclaimer. PS we need an eyes watering smilie

What?! No ants? no peppers? exotic body parts from animals near extinction? where's the distinction man?!

I don't need any distinction! Just leave the chocolate lying around for awhile and you can eat the ants and flies, too.

Mozzarella and Tomato Sandwich - One of my favorite things to make and eat. I wonder if there is anything else that can top in the simplicity and deliciousness.
Nothing better than fresh tomatoes. I have two tomato plants on my patio that are serious producers. We are new to the neighborhood and the hornworms have not yet found us.

That's strange, but I'll trust on you. What I can imagine is - the places where I've had, they always had it tossed up as a neat salad with fresh veggies. I suspect that this might have 'altered' or 'suppressed' the naked flavour of balsamic as such. But the salads were insanely delicious! I haven't tried balsamic separately, so I'll try that next time. Or shouldn't I? :^)

Heat as in melting the cheese or heat as in pepper?

Melting the cheese, of course. A slice of hot bread (flavored with herbs - we can buy organic ones here...) will add bonus points. :)

Isn't that something like really bad Tomato Sauce?

The first time I had balsamic vinegar, I thought the vinegar had gone bad. The next time I tried it, it tasted just as awful. Since then, balsamic vinegar has been my culinary enemy

Yes, you should. Most good Italian places do a balsamic/oil mix to dip bread into as a pre-appetiser. Try it like that.

You've had it at the wrong place. I've tasted some incredibly tasty green veg salad with balsamic dressing. Seriously.

You seem to know all the right places to eat. Let's hang out if I hit Bangalore. Which area are you in, Btw?

I eat hot stuff - really hot stuff that will put most Andhragaarus to shame. But I've been cutting back because too many people are warning me about its effects after 35-40.

All the really delicious food in the world is the simplest food. Overwrought recipes have been the downfall of many aspiring chefs the world over. Very ripe strawberries with very good balsamic vinegar drizzled on them is also a classic. However the single ingredient foods that consistently make a direct hit on the pleasure center of my brain are always sushi related like really good tuna or salmon sashimi or the grandaddy of all deliciousness in sushi that is UNI[^]

Yup, absolutely the most rewarding and easiest thing you can grow in your garden or even in a pot on a patio. This year I've gone crazy with the tomatoes and have half a dozen varieties of cherry tomatoes for snacking and two 30 foot rows of paste tomatoes for making sauce and freezing it so I can enjoy fresh tomato flavour all winter. I'm about 7 days or less away from the first cherry tomatoes being ripe. I'm particularly looking forward to the black cherry and the wild Cheesmani tomato which I've been trying to get a hold of for a couple of years now. It grows wild in the Galapagos islands and is currant sized. Fresh tomatoes right off the plant, still hot from the sun, perfectly ripe...mmmm. Hard to beat that.

Fresh baked bread? Warm sourdough with English mustard and smoked turkey? Pita bread with labneh[^], olive oil, salt and tomatoes? Kashkawan[^] cheese, thinly sliced in a bun, melted in the microwave and then pickles (not dill) added to it? The possibilities are endless if you have a belly like mine!

I bake sourdough all the time and there's very little as delicious as a fresh slice still warm from the oven with butter slathered over it.

The same sandwich but with a real Bulgarian feta cheese. The Mozzarella tastes like a wet rubber.

What is sold shrink wrapped in most grocery stores in north america labelled "mozzarella" does taste like not much but real proper mozzarella is quite delicious and an entirely different thing. You can tear it like bread and it's soft and creamy and milky tasting and no comparison.

Everyone who hates some food that is widely liked thinks the same thing and 99% of the time it turns out they had some cheap substitute for the real thing. I once knew a guy who entirely hated pasta as a whole class of food because as a kid his mom made him eat kraft dinner boxed macaroni and powdered cheese and he seriously thought that was what all pasta tastes like and refused to even try any other.
